Alicia is the Co-Executive Director of DigiDems. Prior to DigiDems, Alicia founded Spark Actions, a progressive millennial engagement platform. Alicia is both a seasoned entrepreneur including co-founding Buttoned Up, a company dedicated to helping busy women get sanely organized and a senior CPG marketer working for Unilever and General Mills. Alicia holds an MBA from the University of Michigan and a BA from Claremont McKenna College. Alicia got involved in politics because she promised her teenage daughter, Lucy, that she would find a way to make a difference after the 2016 elections.
David was a product executive at AdColony (acquired by Opera Software), AT&T Interactive and a co-founder of Mobile Content Networks, with deep experience in Mobile, including pioneering work in Video and HyperLocal advertising. He sits on the Board of the non-profit Bay Team Agility Club and holds a BA in Creative Writing from Stanford University.
Senior Security Specialist
Lexi spent five years working in and studying public health and technology for development before joining the inaugural class of 2018 DigiDems and helping to flip one of Pennsylvania’s congressional seats blue. More recently she has been empowering folks to face their fears around information security as a technical program manager with the Secure-by-Default program; Lexi is committed to making security an accessible, approachable part of every campaign and organization in our ecosystem. She holds both a BA and MS from the University of Colorado Boulder.
Allen sits on boards of both for-profit and non-profit organizations, and advises several others. He’s interested in a robust and productive politics that contributes to America’s economic, social and cultural growth, as well as our leadership around the world. He’s one of the co-founders of Linkedin.
Jorge began his career with the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights. He worked for the reelection campaign of President Barack Obama and later served as Associate Director for the Office of Public Engagement at The White House for Latino and Immigration Outreach.
Jorge served as the Nevada State Director for Secretary Hillary Clinton. Under his leadership, Secretary Clinton won the state and Nevadans elected the first Latina U.S. Senator and flipped the State Legislature to Democratic control.
Eduardo is a designer and an engineer. He has over 13 years of experience working as a software engineer, information architect, and user experience designer. For the past 6 years he's been focused on developing design within social impact practices in order to help make a positive difference in the world. He’s co-founded Project 100, an organization dedicated to helping get progressive women elected to Congress, and PRTNRS, LLC a social impact design and engineering studio working with organizations that are helping improve their communities.
He previously held several titles (Executive Creative Director, Director, Designer) at the US Digital Service, a White House startup launched under President Obama to use design and technology to deliver better services to the American people; he focused on immigration reform and developing new capabilities for NATO. He is also a decorated Marine Corps veteran.
Jeff is a technologist and humanitarian. He spent 15 years in Silicon Valley as an engineer, designer, and founder. For the past 12 years, he has worked in international development. He established and co-directed the ThoughtWorks Social Impact Program, built Mercy Corps' Technology for Development team, and helped to launch the Digital Impact Alliance at the UN Foundation. Jeff is most proud of his on-the-ground field work in varied locations from Mongolia to Madagascar and of his emergency deployments to Liberia for the Ebola crisis and Lesbos during the Syrian migrant crisis.

John has degrees in Economics and Psychology from UCLA. He's fascinated by people as well as how a company runs. Prior to DigiDems, he's worked heavily in Finance and Operations for start-ups. He enjoys watching movies and playing with dogs.
Karan comes to DigiDems after a decade of working as a software engineer, product architect, and startup founder. He most recently served as the Chief Technology Officer on Brian Forde's Congressional campaign in CA-45. In that role, he developed the infrastructure to manage the campaigns' communications, field, and finance operations – including a custom-built phone banking tool that enabled volunteers to reach over 50,000 voters through calls and texts.
Karan thrives at designing, developing, and deploying software that solves real problems for real humans – and he can't think of a more important place to put those skills to use than in helping DigiDems preserve our democracy!
Kate has 12 years of experience working in Democratic politics. Most recently, she served under President Barack Obama as the Deputy Director of the Domestic Policy Council at the White House, where her focus was immigration and criminal justice policy. Kate’s prior roles include COO at Bully Pulpit Interactive, Deputy Director of Paid Media for President Obama’s 2012 reelection campaign, and Director of Scheduling and Advance for Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s campaign. Kate holds a BS in Communications from Ithaca College.
Travis enjoys sports, athletics, and pushing his physical limits. He's competed in a triathlon and numerous other endurance races. When he's not training, he dedicates his time to improving security on our campaigns. Preparing our defense for the next big race. Previously, he worked on PA-06’s congressional race supporting their security needs in web development, IT, and personal education. Now he has the privilege of providing security support to a wide range of races throughout America.

Director of Strategy and Development
Ellyn spent the past 8 years helping to build and scale conscious consumer brands, sweetgreen and Honest Tea. Most recently, she led mission + social impact at sweetgreen, where she developed and led the strategy to integrate and prioritize the company's mission with the same rigor as their financials. Ellyn has gotten increasingly involved in politics over the years and looks forward to spending all day every day working on some of the critical roadblocks impacting our democracy.
Director of Operations, DigiDems
Jeff serves as the Director of Operations at DigiDems and has spent over 15 years specializing in complex project management and operations oversight. In addition to serving as a Strategic Operations Consultant and Independent Event Director throughout his career, his prior roles include Director of Operations, HR, and Customer Support at 17hats, Director of International Programs at Pepperdine University, and Senior Project manager at Insyght Interactive. Jeff holds a BA in International Business from Pepperdine University.
Director of Electoral Program
Gabe has been doing IT management and leadership development for the last twenty years with experience in media, finance, and infrastructure development corporations. After joining the DigiDems 2018 electoral program, he found the intersection of politics and technology to be an ideal place to maximize his skillsets and help lead for change in America.
Blue Leadership Collaborative
Jen Pihlaja is the founder and President of Rowan Strategies. She previously was founder of McKenna Pihlaja, a women-owned media firm in Washington, DC., where the firm provided impactful work for individuals and organizations within the Democratic community through advocacy, electoral campaigns, and strategic communications. In addition, Jen has managed races, worked in political leadership at EMILY’s List and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, and done a whole lot of other things. Throughout her career, Jen has been a trainer, mentor and advocate for candidates, and more importantly to her, for campaign staff. Jen lives in Washington DC with her husband – but will tell you she’s from Upper Michigan, remains a proud Midwesterner, a loyal Green Bay Packers football fan, and an ambassador from real America to the Beltway.
Chief of Staff
Deepa Krishna is a seasoned Chief of Staff and has more than 15 years of experience in operations and marketing management in the media & entertainment industry at WWE, Miramax, and The Weinstein Company. A desire to work in service led to public sector experience with the City of Boston in Mayor Menino’s Office as a Rappaport Public Policy Fellow a decade ago, and the 2016 election brought that desire to work for the "mission" back. Deepa holds an MBA as well as an MS in Information Systems from Boston University’s Questrom School of Business and a BFA from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.
Deputy Political Director
Emily is the Deputy Political Director at DigiDems. Most recently, she worked as the Director of Client Experience at Political Data, Inc. (PDI) and the Southern California Field Director at the Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California. She also currently serves as the Board President of California Women's List. She holds a Master's Degree in Social Work from NYU and a BSW from Skidmore College. Though she lives in sunny California, she remains a very proud New Yorker with a deep love for bagels.
Senior Security Specialist
Shahin comes to DigiDems after 10 years in IT network administration and security for many prestigious art dealers, galleries, and artist foundations in New York City. During DigiDems’ 2018 electoral program, he worked as a campaign technology specialist for Congressman Mike Levin’s historic victory in California’s 49th congressional district. A friend of the dachshund, he enjoys domestic pizza strictly within an 86-mile radius of Lombardi's, and considers grueling slates of nightly European musical performances “vacation”.
